In the spirit of this week's Gators matchup with Arkansas, why not showcase one of the primary Arkansas beat writers, Alex Abrams from the Morning News of Northwest Arkansas. Abrams happens to be one of 10 Associated Press voters taking Florida No. 2 in the latest poll. And if the team he covers plays big in The Swamp this week, the Razorbacks just might back up his argument.
Florida started the preseason poll with 58 of 60 votes, and its grip is slightly slipping every week as Alabama gains ground.
Five-sixth of the voters still feel Florida shouldn't be budged from the top spot. But Abrams says he's been too impressed with Alabama in recent weeks and seen too much of "eh, they're just getting by" from Florida.
